Our Wines

2005 Pinot Noir—Temperance Hill Vineyard
Our Pinot exhibits the Mystic “House style” of generous fruit extraction, rich deep flavors and soft lingering finish. 2005 was a long, beautiful growing season and the grapes from this respected vineyard were picked at their optimum flavor: ripe, tart sweet cherry which comes across with intensity and medium body. What Oregon Pinot should be. • $24/bottle or $288 by the case
2003 Merlot
The benchmark and mainstay of Mystic has always been our Merlot and vintage 2003 is no exception. Classic Red Bordeaux structure polished and redolent of years past. Wild blackberry and vanilla oak spice lend mature fruit flavors to the soft yet solid balance and lingering finish. • $24/bottle or $288 by the case
2003 Cabernet Sauvignon
2003 was a great year for Northwest Cabernet as evidenced in our most luscious effort to date. Stylishly dense and packed with blackberry and briar intensity the fruit expands in your mouth without Cabs typical tannic overtones. Lots of mellow French oak abounds in the aroma and rounds out the flavor and finish as well. With time this wine opens up generously…even better on day two! • $28/bottle or $336 by the case
2006 Syrah
Each year the fruit from this vineyard is a little more robust. As the vines age the flavors are richer and deeper and the trademark black pepper spiciness becomes more pronounced. The wine is dark and inky again this year and is set off by nuances of plum and black licorice in both aroma and flavor, and enhanced by just a smidge more toasty oak than last year. Careful not to overpower the lush natural fruit and spice of this Syrah, the oak adds texture and captures that lingering pepperiness in the finish. • $22/bottle or $264 by the case
2006 Barbera
Another Mystic first; this wine is the first commercially produced Barbera made in Oregon. Barbera is traditionally grown in Northern Italy where the season is long enough to mature the loads of acidity inherent in the grape. The bench above the Columbia River accomplishes the same feat. This truly is Winemakers’ wine—rich, concentrated, briary fruit with a touch of resin character and enough backbone and structural acidity to compliment the richest of foods. Try it and see if you don’t agree! • $28/bottle or $336 by the case
2005 Hillside Zinfandel
This vineyard is growing on us and 2005 was no exception. Youthful in abundant raspberry preserve aroma and flavors, bolstered by integrated rich tannin the 2005 Zin is right on the mark. As always, the ample alcohol lends a sweetness effect in the mouth without being drying or overripe. A great accompaniment to spicy stews and soups as well as a fine compliment to anything chocolate for dessert. • $20/bottle or $240 by the case

Our goal is to stay small, handle the wines and winery ourselves and produce outstanding hand-crafted wines in limited quantities. The wines are ready to drink upon release yet will also benefit from additional cellaring. SALUTÉ!
